5 books you should read

If you are looking out for books to read, I can give you five, freshly brewed from the inks. And if you haven’t given reading these books a thought, you should. In fact, you should contact me.

Am listing them in no particular order. But be rest assured they are great books.

  • STAY WITH ME: this is the debut novel of Ayobami Adebayo. The book was published in March 2017 by Canongate books Limited. It was shortlisted for the prestigious Baileys Women’s prize for fiction. It has also been nominated for Goodreads awards.

  • What It Means When A Man Falls From The Sky: This one is a short story collection by Lesley Nneka Arimah. It is also a debut, published in April by headline. Stories from the collection have been shortlisted for Caine prize (2016 and 2017).

  • And After Many Days: this is the debut novel by Jowhor Ile. It was published in 2016 by Kachifo publishers. It won the Etisalat prize for fiction in 2017.

  • Akata Warrior: it is original in its entirety. It is a Young adult fiction, Fantasy Fiction, Paranormal fiction. The book is sequel to The Akata Witch by Nnedi Okorafor. It was published in October 2017 by Penguin Young Readers Group. “The most imaginative, gripping, enchanting fantasy novels I have ever read!” —Laurie Halse Anderson, New York Times bestselling author of Speak.

  • Heresiad: this one is a poetry collection, of course. This is the sixth book by Ikeogu Oke. It was published by kraftgriot publishers. This book won this year’s NLNG $100,000 Prize for literature.
