Fluid/ Pronouns and Adjectives/poems/ By Jideofor Confidence

FLUID

She asks me,
How do you do it?

And I say,

I wear myself, in and out,
Like a winter jacket.

Fluid,
Malleable.
I yield,
Perhaps too easy.
Resisting stasis.
I’m not my own,
Feeling,
Flowing,
Not being.

At dawn,
I binge on Azure,
and roam the open skies.
At dusk,
I merge with the stolid earth,
Becoming a busy mall.

I am different bodies,
All in one lifetime.
I am need,
Shapeless,
Will less.

PRONOUNS AND ADJECTIVES

You learnt to appropriate pronouns
even before you learnt to think,
She for he,
Sexual pronouns,
He instead of she,
Passive and active pronouns.
Specific,
Gender roles,
Fitted.
Bold pronouns with the
Beautiful adjectives by the side.
Lords,
Polished dolls to go.

Sex was a metaphor,
Without synonyms,
Polychromes,
Or extra lunch boxes.
No he-he, no she-she.

What’s in the word -queer?
If not your hatred for your mother?
