Meet the judges for the maiden edition of KPSWPC

To get the best and an itch-free selection process, we contacted two exciting personalities who have agreed to serve as judges for the maiden edition of KrystalPen Spoken Word Poetry Contest (KPSWPC).

Submissions for the maiden edition of krystalpen spoken word poetry contest ended last month. The shortlist is set to be announced on the 16th of April 2018. Voting will start on the 18th of April and will end on the 11th of May 2018. Simultaneously, the judges will begin the process.

The winner will be announced by the judges after a collation of the judges’ decision and the votes are made.

Meet the Judges

Joel Pereyi
(Chair)

Joel is a reader who loves to write. He is a communications professional with a fire in his belly to help brands connect to the right audience through the right publicity channels. He is all about developing and implementing cutting-edge publicity and marketing plans and helping brands get better business results.

He is an independent consultant, a Copywrter/Digital Planner with Surkreo Communications, a volunteer Communications Consultant for Sickle Cell Aid Foundation and a volunteer PR/Social Media Manager with Haima Health Initiative.

Joel is a foremost essayist. An erstwhile winner of the DAC Foundation Scholarship essay competition.

He is a graduate of Petroleum engineering, a graduate of Future of Advertising– Bschool (TINK Africa) and is certified in Account Management 1 .0 – PRCAN Masterclass 13.0

Olaleye Doyin Sunshine

Olaleye Doyin Sunshine is an award-winning Nigerian Poet, Writer, Journalist, Microbiologist and a lover of Arts.
She became a member and was appointed the chief representative of World Nation Writers’ Union in Nigeria 2017.

She was also appointed the Squire of the World Union of Poets by the Italian Knight and the World President of World Union of Poets, Silvano Bortolazzi, 2017.

She was awarded the certificate of honour by Immagine & Poesia in Italy 2016, and was published in Association of Nigerian Authors (ANA) 2016 Review, Abuja, Published in World Anthology of poetry 2016 in Taiwan, Appointed Nigerian Ambassador for A New Home For Africa 2016 by Nibstears poetry cave, Appointed the Poets In Nigeria Lead Representative in Ibadan, Oyo state 2016.

Doyin is also a member of groups and organizations like Hafrikan Prince Art World in Ghana, Words, Rhymes and Rhythm, Enigmatic creativity (EGC), Nibstears, Poets in Nigeria (PIN), Society of Young Nigerian Writers, Muse for Peace Foundation etc

As a writer, Doyin has participated, won and certified in many national and international contests – received certificate of participation at the Poetography contest on the theme of healing the planet through sublime art 2016 in India. Certificate of Excellence from Muse for Peace Foundation 2016. Certificate of participation at Society of Young Nigerian Writers Creative writing workshop 2016.

Her works have been featured in international anthologies, journals, and magazines both in print and online such as Muse for World Peace Anthology – edition 2, Immagine & Poesia Volume 3, to mention but few.

As a Peace advocate; Doyin is the General Secretary of Muse for Peace Foundation a nonprofit organization established towards building peaceful relationship among people of all ages, culture and races; starting from individual to the global communities through Arts, Education, and humanitarian services.

She is the model of an online movement; Nibstears Poetry Cave Yoruba Poetry.

She recently published an Anthology of poems with Amazon “The Muse”, coauthored alongside three other African poets.
